I SING THE BODY ELECTRIC is the name I gave to this project, in which I like to imagine myself “singing” some of my favorite songs only with my bass and the accompaniment of some percussions. Working with Luca turned the project into a chance to let two different musical paths meet together, to make room for a contamination between pop, jazz, Africa and Brasil. Born as a poem by Walt Whitman, “I sing the body electric” is also the title of an album by Weather Report, one of the greatest jazz-rock groups and surely the one I’ve loved the most ever. It’s probably due to their influence if I started playing and, indirectly, if you can now listen to this music
